About

"I’m fine" is usually the first thing we say when someone asks us how we are doing, but are we really fine though? Our society is becoming more and more aware of the growing problems caused by depression, yet we still do not seem to understand how to discuss it. Even though most people agree that speaking up about mental health is important, it is still heavily stigmatized and discriminated against. Together we can open up the conversation and break the stigma.

I’m Fine Archive is a digital and physical collection of personal objects related to depression. By diving into the untold stories surrounding them, we can try to make depression more tangible. The objects can be anything ranging from dirty sweatpants, a page from someone’s diary or a CD which helped someone to keep fighting. By also showing objects which have a positive impact on someone, we want to express how important a small gesture or caring words can be when struggling with depression.

Depression

Depression is a serious mental illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease your ability to function at work, at home and with every-day activities. In the worst cases, depression can lead to suicide.

Are you struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts? Try talking about it with your friends and family or a mental health professional. You don't have to deal with depression on your own.
